Watch Rey Train With Her Lightsaber In New Star Wars: The Last Jedi Footage. We're about to get our next big look at Star Wars: The Last Jedi, but we don't need to wait for a look at Daisy Ridley doing some serious Jedi training in the new film. A brief clip, which one assumes is part of the new trailer set to release this evening, has been dropped online and it shows Rey, armed with the Skywalker lightsaber, learning how to wield it like a Jedi. Check it out. The clip is all of eleven seconds long but in it, we get the best look yet of Rey using a lightsaber that we've had in the leadup to Star Wars: The Last Jedi. The brief bit opens with the wide shot that we've seen before, but then moves into a series of close- ups which are new.

The clip also gives us the full lightsaber sound effects, which is a nice touch, since the first trailer was using music from Star Wars over most of it. Rey looks awesome and it just makes us want to see more, which, we may very likely get to do this evening. This clip was put online yesterday as part of the announcement that the next Star Wars: The Last Jedi trailer will premiere tonight during halftime of the Monday Night Football game on ESPN. In addition to being our next look at the film, the trailer will also act as an announcement that presale tickets for the movie's December 1. Fandango will begin selling as soon as the trailer is over. With just over two months before the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, we don't expect a great deal of plot detail to be revealed by the new trailer. The movie has done a good job of keeping things hidden, and the simple fact is that the movie doesn't need to explain itself in order to get people excited, meaning that while the trailer will probably give us plenty of interesting things to talk about, it probably won't give us even the simplest of answers.

We're expecting that Monday Night Football will get some solid ratings tonight, at least the first half, as thousands of Star Wars fans watch it, if only to be sure they know when halftime is happening. This is, of course, the point, as ESPN is owned by Disney, which means the trailer premiere during the game is a double win for them.
